Gulakk, the Beast Master, glanced up from his vat of boiling roots and
sniffed the air. A sudden fear and confusion gripped his mind.
With their upcoming sci-fi MMO, Atriarch, developer World Fusion aims to bring something fresh and different to the persistent world table. How so? By doing away with them tired ol' humans completely and focusing on alien species, organic construction, and empire building - that's how! Sound interesting? You bet! Read on...
Gameworld
Atriarch's gameworld is the planet Atriana. An organic world, over 1 million kilometers in size, where everything is alive to some degree, however small. Its environment includes vast deserts, rigid ice plains, and murky swamps.
Atriana comes under heavy influence from its 3 moons;
Mantar - which summons harsh winds
Gentar - bringer of icy cold fronts
Devar - summoner of terrible fires
Each cycle, Atriana is blanketed by Torpor Storms which force its population into periods of hibernation and rejuvenation.
Objective
The ultimate "Goal" of the game is to become an Atriarch (hence the moniker natch!). An Atriarch is the leader of a major faction and ruler of an empire. The catch? It's very difficult to obtain the title and there will only be a handful of Atriarchs in the game at any one time.
Characters
There are initially 5 species available for players to choose from:
Covolon, Eshlar, Lokai, Tyrusin, and Unarra.
5 major ruling factions exist on Atriana:
Beast Lords, Explorers, Warriors, Architects, and Plant Masters.
All species have inherent biological differences which enhance specific skills. For instance, one species may excel at building, while another may be best at breeding beasts of transportation.
Characters can be customized with varying sizes, skins, colors, and physical features. Species also possess individual features which further define their appearance. Different colored shells or cloaks for example.
