HELLGATE: LONDON: Happy Halloween! Bill Roper and Flagship Studios have launched HELLGATE: LONDON today.
I spent the past week with the European Beta and also played through the single player demo twice and give HELLGATE my recommendations - with a caveat.
I had a fun time blasting minions of Hell and running round a destroyed London, so much so that I am considering a purchase. My choice of class was the Marksman or Engineer which play more like an FPS. I would point out though that the game is barely an MMO. HELLGATE is more like a quality single player title with robust multiplayer options.

“Ripper McGee: While I agree that Flagship is in business to make money, I can see how some players might be put off by the fact that they will be forced to accept ads even though they already paid for the rights to install and use the software. This seems like a double whammy, since Flagship (or EA or whomever) gets revenue both from licensing and advertising, but the free players don’t get to reap any extra benefits other than getting to play a game for which they already purchased a license.”
