WORLD OF WARCRAFT: Blizzard have provided juicy details and launched a web page unveiling the WORLD OF WARCRAFT: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition.
While no launch date is attached, Blizzard have stated that more news will be revealed “in the months ahead”. What’s in the box that many of us will happily be shelling out $79.99 for? Here’s the run down from the press release:
* Art of the Cataclysm art book, featuring 176 pages of never-before-seen images from the archives of the Blizzard Entertainment cinematics department and the World of Warcraft development team, as well as progressive visuals from multiple stages of development.
* Exclusive in-game pet: he may not be a breaker of worlds just yet, but Lil’ Deathwing will still proudly accompany heroes on their struggle to save Azeroth from his much, much larger counterpart.
* Behind-the-scenes DVD with over an hour of developer interviews and commentaries, as well as a special Warcraft® retrospective examining the rich gaming history of the Warcraft universe.
* Soundtrack featuring 10 epic new tracks from Cataclysm, including exclusive bonus tracks.
* Special-edition mouse pad depicting Deathwing menacing the ravaged continents of Azeroth.
* World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards, including a 60-card starter deck from the Wrathgate series, two extended-art cards, and two Collector’s Edition-exclusive hero cards, marking the first appearance of goblin and worgen heroes in the TCG.

APB: I’m sorry to report that Realtime Worlds, makers of the original CRACKDOWN and the recently released APB, have run into insurmountable problems and are now in administration.
I assume that APB’s harsh reviews and presumably poor showing at retail has lead to Realtime’s demise. One thing is certain - lawyers (Begbies Traynor) are now running the show. Will APB survive? I wouldn’t place any bets on it, but I certainly hope they can find a buyer for the title or salvage it somehow. Read more at Edge and VG247.
“Edge quote: Following Develop’s report this morning that the developer has closed its studio in Boulder, Colorado, word broke via a Realtime Worlds employee’s Twitter account this afternoon that the developer has entered administration.
On contacting studio manager Colin MacDonald, he referred us to the company which is dealing with its administration procedure, Begbies Traynor. A representative from the company has confirmed to us that this is the case.
A further source has told us that Realtime has also cut its workforce to 45.”
CITY OF HEROES: CITY OF HEROES’ ‘Going Rogue‘ expansion has launched and you can view the new trailer below. Lots of changes to the game arriving with this one - it’s worth checking out.

MONDAY NIGHT COMBAT: I downloaded MONDAY NIGHT COMBAT for Xbox Live this morning and after a few hours of blasting my way through single player and online multiplayer, I can thankfully say that the game has lived up to my high hopes. I wholeheartedly recommend you try this one out. Check out vid of the Gunner class in-action below and I’ll see ya later in ‘Combat.

EARTH ETERNAL: I’m afraid there’s sad news to report on the EARTH ETERNAL front today. Gamasutra are reporting that Sparkplay Media, developers of the aforementioned anthropomorphic animal-centric MMO, have run out of funding and have been forced to shutter.
All hope is not lost, however, as Sparkplay have put EARTH ETERNAL up for auction and have high hopes that someone will purchase the title and continue to operate it.
We wish Matt Mihaly and every former Sparkplay employee well in their future endeavors. EARTH ETERNAL is a colorful and fun game. Let’s hope it survives. “The San Francisco-based company reportedly picked up another $2.8 million, according to an SEC filing submitted in January of this year. Mihaly said Sparkplay has sought further investments for the past two months without success, and confessed that the studio’s ‘last hope crumbled’ several days ago.”

Today, we present Vultros of The Dust Plains, Deathmaw of Terror Wing Path and Master Digger of Jangolode Mine. Oh, Vultros - you sweet Super Rare, you. Six years running characters through Westfall and I’ve never caught a glimpse of you until now. Nice blue dagger drop (”Talon of Vultros“) as well. Not bad for a level 26 mob.
